Well... the picture below doesn't look like a very
Happy Halloween. I found the cutest little
devil costume for Lincoln this year. But he
refused (and cried and cried) when I tried to
get him to put it on. I chalked it up to him not
wanting to put a costume on period. So I quick
snapped a few photos (thinking these were the
only pics I was getting of him in costume this
Halloween). I figured someday we'd look at these
and giggle at the 2 year old stubborness.
Clearly, not happy. "Off mama. No "cosume", No
cape."
I tried putting him in front of a mirror so he could see
how cute he looked. Nice try Mom.
Despite the four photos, this ordeal was less than 30 seconds.
I even tried to bribe him with candy. ( As you can see
dribbling down his chin.)
I decided since the costume was non-returnable,
that I was going to get my moneys worth. So
Duke was naturally the next "victim".
SOOOOO, on Halloween I picked Lincoln
up from daycare, ready to have him help me
pass out candy instead of trick-or-treating.
I mean, I wasn't going to take him trick-or-treating
without a costume.
BUT, I got there and his teachers (knowing he
was refusing to wear his costume... because the week before
at the Halloween party he was the only kid there
not wearing a costume) said that he had pulled out
the Mickey Mouse outfit that day when they were playing
dress up, and didn't want to take it off. So they
graciously let us take it home for Lincoln to wear
trick or treating! It was a bit small, and pretty worn, but
I wasn't complaining! Turns out at 2 he wants to pick
out his own costume! Ha. I'll remember that next year!
He's eating candy already, and we haven't even gone
trick-or-treating yet!
Isn't our little Mouse so cute!
(Yes, that is an Easter bucket. I didn't get a Halloween
bucket, because Lincoln had made it clear he wasn't going
to wear a costume. So we had to make due. Guess he
showed me who's in charge)
We were out for 45 mintues! He was tired!
But loved looking at all the kids in costumes, and had
so much fun ringing the doorbells and saying
"twick or tweet"!
Okay, somebody take me home now. please!
Welcome Family and Friends!!!
Welcome to the Chapman Family Blog!! I discovered that I am much more efficient at keeping the family photos up to date online than I am actually scrapbooking. It's nothing fancy, just a slice of life from the Chapman's in Arizona. Enjoy!
