Welcome Family and Friends!!!

Welcome to the Chapman Family Blog!! I discovered that I am much more efficient at keeping the family photos up to date online than I am actually scrapbooking. It's nothing fancy, just a slice of life from the Chapman's in Arizona. Enjoy!

The Phoenix Children's Museum

Nana & I took Lincoln to Phoenix Children's Museum for a day.
We decided instead of driving downtown, that we would
take the newly opened Light Rail. We drove to a park and
ride station in Tempe, and took the Light Rail downtown.
It was so nice not to have to worry about driving or parking.
Especially because I am not that familiar with downtown
Phoenix. Lincoln loves trains, and got a kick out of
riding the Light Rail. The only downside... there are
quite a few stops between where we got on and where
we needed to get off. At every stop, Lincoln thought it was
our turn to get off, and started to get very impatient!
But, it was a fun experience! We'll definitely be riding again
soon!

Linc & Nana waiting for the Light Rail

The train stop and the train were very clean and uncrowded!

The Phoenix Children's Museum is awesome! There are
three levels of hands on, imaginative fun. Lincoln had an absolute
blast. We could have spent days here, and not done everything.
The colorful jungle gym playground below was the first thing to
do when we walked in the door. There were so many holes for the
kiddos to pop in and out of. It was hard to keep track of Linc!

There he goes.....

....here he comes

There was a wall of plastic pipes with blowing air running through them
There were openings for the kids to put colorful scarfs in, and
watch them run through the whole pipe system, and come out
on the other side of the room. There were scarfs of all colors
flying everywhere. Lincoln thought it was so neat!

Cruisin on the scooter before we headed up to the 2nd floor

This room had a really long enclosed racetrack that the
kids could put little wooden cars into, and watch them
move down the track. Lincoln really liked this one!

The next few pics are of this pulley type thing. Linc would
stick a stuffed animal onto the pulley, another kid would crank
the handle, and the stuffed animals (held on with velcro) would
inch towards the top, where there was a fan that would
shoot the stuffed animals all over the room! It was
super funny! All the kids in this room were cracking up!

This room was full of Rube Goldberg style machines.

Here Linc is in a platform, dropping a ball into a tube
that went around the entire room, Rube Goldberg style.
Making noises, flipping parts, and running down inclined
planes the whole time. It was really cool.

Watching the ball work its way around the room.

A vat full of split peas, with grocery store balances and scales.
Lots of fun here!

We found a room on the third floor where only kids 3 and under
were allowed. Lincoln liked this room, he was the "big kid"! And it
was nice not to have to worry about him getting plowed over
by a kid twice his size!

Makin' some noise

Slidin' down the mini slide

When he concentrates really hard, his little tongue sticks out!
It's so funny! I know where he gets it from...
I catch myself doing the same thing sometimes.

Waiting for the gush of air to come up! There was
a big canopy type of thing up above, that flowed
all around when the air hit it.

Here comes the air!

A tricycle car wash!

The arts and craft room was our last stop. Linc was really
losing steam by this time. (We had been there for over 4 hours)
I think he would have enjoyed this more, had he had more
energy. (We would have too!)
It was pretty cute seeing all the little ones with paintbrushes
and smocks.

There was a "house" in the middle of the room that the kids
painted with the color of the day.

We were about 2 steps out of the museum. He was sooooo
tired. And so were we. Only we didn't get the luxury of a nap! :)
It was such a fun day, and we were glad to have spent it with
Nana. Thank you Nana!!! We can't wait to go back!
